Bringing Peace on the Agenda: Supporting the Participation of Women, LGBTI+, and Youth in Peace Processes

Start Date: February 1, 2022 –

In recent years, with the criminalization of peace, we observe that academic and critical knowledge generation in this field has decreased, and the opportunity for young people to discuss and speak about peace has become quite limited. With this project, we aim to support the knowledge generation of women, LGBTI+, and youth (and primarily young women/LGBTI+) in peace studies through blog posts, translations, and workshops, to enrich the peace agenda in civil society and academia on the youth/gender axis and to disseminate the intersectional gender perspective in peace studies. We aim for young people interested in peace work, civil society organizations, activists, researchers, and academics working in the field of peace and/or gender to benefit from the project activities. Thus, we hope to support young people, women, and LGBTI+ participation in possible peace processes.
